Another Political Terrestrial Fiction
--- a project in collaboration with Ignacio Rivas, Franziska Dehm, Mathias Klenner, Nils Kreynhop, Gastón Hermida and Leandro Cappetto. Part of Appearance 5, La Escuela Nunca y los otros futuros, The Floating University, Berlin
Another Political Terrestrial Fiction was a week long residency at the Floating University. Together we spent the week creating a moving sculpture to be activated in a performance to the public at the end of the week and accompanied by a meal, a series of readings, a projection of films and an audio piece.
The project took the potato as our starting point to explore our relationships to land, production and the industrialisation of agriculture. Our research focused on the displacement of the potato from South America through colonialism and its journey to Europe.
Alongside a shifting, growing, eating, smelling sculpture of potatoes and found materials, we co-wrote a script of the characters involved in the potato’s histories including humans, the soil, fungus, guanacos, the sun and more.
This project has since been exhibited at Glogauair, Berlin as part of Colaboraciones: artists in collective creation, 2023.
